Class & Level Descriptions

Class Descriptions

Acro Classes
Our acrobatics classes are lots of fun and very interactive. Some of the skills taught in these classes are: somersaults, handstands, walkovers, and more! These classes are a great supplement to any dancers’ training and the skills taught are often used in other dance styles.

Ballet Classes
Our ballet classes help to build the foundation for other dance styles and are important for any dancer regardless of level or age. Ballet helps strengthen the core, work on body awareness, and develop proper alignment. Our teachers are trained to work with both new and experienced students while providing an outlet to broaden and challenge all dancers’ abilities.

Ballet Tap Tumble
Our Ballet Tap Tumble class is designed for students ages 2-5. Our instructors are trained to ensure that these young students remain safe while having lots of fun learning basic acrobatic/tumbling skills, ballet technique, and tap technique. This is a great opportunity to get your dancers moving while exposing them to dance at an early age.

Ballroom and Social Dance Classes
Our ballroom classes focus on a variety of different ballroom and social dance styles, including salsa, tango, waltz, and more! These classes can be done with or without a partner and help build skills that can be applied in many other dance classes and styles, as well.

Break Dance (Breakin')
Our break dance (breakin') classes help new and experienced breakers learn the correct technique for becoming the greatest b-boy or b-girl they can be. Our talented, energetic, and friendly instructors will have you doing uprock, floor work, and freezes in no time!

Broadway Jazz/Musical Theater
Our musical theater class is designed to focus on the key elements of theatrical performance, including breathing, facial expressions, acting, and using the entire body to portray emotions. The students use jazz technique in their dance training while engaging in fun and educational activities to further their acting and performance abilities.

Contemporary and Modern Classes
Our diverse contemporary and modern classes are ideal for dancers of different experience levels who want to explore the art of movement and expression. These classes incorporate elements of ballet technique, inversions, and floor work.

Dancing Dames and Dudes
Our Dancing Dames and Dudes class is a low impact ballet, jazz, and technique class for our older students (recommended 40 years old and up) who want to learn to or continue to dance and have fun while working on performance skills. Our Dancing Dames and Dudes starts with a warm up, stretching, and some strengthening to help our older students maintain a healthy balanced regimen.

Fitness Classes
Our workout and fitness classes are designed for people of all ages and fitness levels. Our fun and friendly instructors use a variety of workout techniques ranging from cardio based movement to strength focused routines, while teaching at an appropriate level and personalizing the experience for each individual’s needs.

Heels and Burlesque Class
Our heels class explores the foundations of burlesque while incorporating fun, modern movement and some hip hop to help build self confidence and strength. This is an open level class for anyone over the age of 18 to enjoy. We ask that dancers do not wear stiletto heels to class as they will damage our floors.

Hip Hop
Our hip hop classes start with a warm-up that includes elements of freestyling, stretching, and conditioning, followed by a focus on different types of grooves from various styles of street dance. The teacher then moves onto choreography, combining old and new school hip hop as well as other styles of street dance such as house, popping, locking, elements of breaking, and more.

Jazz Classes
Our jazz classes cover many different variations of jazz, including traditional jazz, commercial jazz, and other more modern styles. Jazz is a great supplement to many other types of dance, including ballet. We offer musical theater, as well, which teaches students broadway style jazz along with some singing and acting skills.

Tap Classes
Our tap classes offer a range of multi-level options for students of all ages and skill levels. They are an exciting way to learn new rhythms and advance tap techniques, while also incorporating elements of music theory. Classes utilize techniques rooted in both broadway and rhythm tap styles.

Urban Tango
Our Urban Tango dance class explores a fusion of both Argentine Tango and American Tango. This class is perfect for beginners or those with moderate experience who would like to expand their skill set. This class can be done with or without a partner and helps build skills that can be applied to other dance classes and styles, as well.
